Bloom into Wellness
Originally from New Jersey, I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education with minors in History and Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2004 (Go Blue!) After 7 years of middle school and high school teaching, I went on to pursue and graduate in 2011 with my Masters in Counseling at California State University, Fresno with a focus both on Marriage and Family Therapy as well as a certification in K-12 California Pupil Personnel Services (School Counselor Credential).
I have experience working outpatient settings as a supervisor and therapist including a 24-hour emergency housing domestic violence center, a community-based children’s center, and clinical and educational settings. During that time, I have been honored to bear witness to an absolute sacred moment in therapy that happens when building a trusting relationship. It's usually the moment that starts right after I hear “I’ve never told anyone this before…” or “I’ve never been able to say this out loud to anyone…” It’s this vulnerable and trusting experience between client and therapist in which there is a compassionate integration of both hearing and holding one’s pains. In that moment, I believe is where transformation begins. And at the same time, I think it’s important to feel an alignment with your therapist and their style to get there. My therapy style is shaped by who I am: thoughtful, supportive, and authentically direct. I so genuinely want each of my clients or families to feel heard, validated, to learn, to grow, to heal, so they can see their own worth and value, ultimately allowing them to be in their life’s purpose.
